Ellen Siberian Tiger and more to play WOAR benefit show at World Cafe Live this weekend
This Saturday, May 26, the upstairs venue of World Cafe Live will be filled with the sounds of four of today’s best emerging artists for the kind of stacked benefit show that doesn’t come along all that often.
Local favorite Ellen Siberian Tiger, who last fall released the fantastic feminist anthem “When Men Explain Things To Me,” will headline the show. Fellow locals Queue and Baltimore’s Joy Postell will both open, along with the just-added Grace London from New York.
Half of the proceeds from the show will benefit WOAR — Women Organized Against Rape — a local nonprofit dedicated to preventing sexual assault in our community and providing support to victims. (The other half goes toward the performers.)
This show provides the perfect chance to see these artists all in one place, and on a smaller stage while we still can, all while supporting a good cause. Read more about WOAR here and find more information on the show over at the XPN Concert Calendar.
