On June 18th, the city of Asbury Park will celebrate the grand renovation of its famed Asbury Lanes with a night of live music…and of course Jersey native Bruce Springsteen will be featured in the lineup.

A bowling alley and bar that became a beloved spot to catch punk shows in the Garden State, Asbury Lanes is now officially outfitted as a new music venue, and the celebration (which also features Portugal. The Man) will benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Monmouth County. Asbury Lanes has been officially open since Memorial Day Weekend.

If you want to attend the show, the venue has promised to honor locals first via an online lottery for Asbury residents that will remain open until 8am on June 7th.

Beyond the grand reopening, Asbury Lanes already has big plans to host several indie-leaning artists, in partnership with the Bowery Presents network. Since it’s soft open, The Allah-Las, Thursday, and Tennis have already played, and Kurt Vile and the Violators, Lupe Fiasco, and the Black Lips are on the list for later this summer.

The reopening of Asbury Lanes is just the first step of many to revive the historic beach town, with many renovations for nearby boardwalk properties speculated for the future.
