One of my favorite Philly DJs, DJ Delish, has stepped out with her singer alter-ego Miss Boi and released a pair of new tracks — “Overstay” and “Bag.”

The first of the two songs, “Overstay,” is a darkly anthemic, 90s-inspired, electronic hip hop anthem that is the musical manifestation of being utterly fed up.

The production features subtle samples, vintage synths, swirling background vocals, and thumping percussion. The lyrics are about kicking someone out of your house who has begun to leech off of not only your finances, but your spirit. Lyrics like “You want to be a top on Jackd / But still ain’t download Cash app” help drive the point home.

I like to think of this track as a queer, DIY homage to Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable” music video. Check out “Overstay” by Miss Boy down below.

Though “Overstay” has only been out for a couple weeks, Miss Boi followed up earlier today with “Bag,” with seems to be a sequel song of sorts; as a downbeat groove simmers, lyrics talk about getting up and leaving a emotionally stressing situation. Listen below.
