Get your dancing shoes ready because Nuevofest, the annual festival celebrating the sounds of Latin American music, returns next month. Now in its seventh year, the festival is part of XPN’s Latin Roots project in collaboration with AfroTiano Productions, and each year features a different lineup of contemporary Latin alternative artists spanning many cultures and genres. The free event will be held at World Cafe Live on July 15.

Though the festival typically focuses on Latin American sounds, this year’s lineup expands across the Atlantic to feature Spanish electronic duo Delaporte, who will be making their U.S. debut after rapidly rising to success in Spain. Fellow electronic-inspired musicians on the lineup include Puerto Rico’s ÌFÉ, known for their use of Afro-Caribbean languages, and San Antonio’s Femina-X, who fuse together everything from punk and hip-hop to folk dance sounds. DC’s Elena Y Los Fulanos will bring their bilingual folk rock to the stage and Chicago’s Dos Santos will channel their varied influences into a progressive sound, while Cuban big band collective Orquestra Akokán and retro-Colombian group Very Be Careful will contribute a more traditional sound.
