Found Wild releases second single “Weatherman,” a somber ballad dedicated to change
Tim Arnold and Keith Goodwin of Good Old War have finally given us a release date for Found Wild‘s forthcoming self-titled EP: July 20th. That’s just Days Away (hahaha), and to celebrate, we have a new single to check out. “Weatherman” is the somber track of the album, and if you caught the Avalon Tour at the TLA last week, then you know this since they played all of them for a captivated audience.
Considering Found Wild is a sort of rebirth of Arnold’s ventures with music, many of these new songs deal with the theme of redemption, change, uncertainty, honesty, and newfound happiness and purpose. Conceived right at the end of a years-long battle with drug and alcohol abuse, the future of Good Old War was entirely up in the air until Arnold was able to turn everything around and revive a new sense of enjoyment for life and music, and he took the reins on this new project as the lead songwriter. These songs are entirely through Arnold’s lens, and “Weatherman” is the heaviest one.
In this song we see how it feels to look at a hypothetical end, and what it means to write out all the things you’d have to say if you knew that end was coming. It’s a tough pill to swallow, and you can stream it below. You can also pre-order Found Wild on vinyl here.
