Philadelphia producer and rapper Qthree a.k.a Eardum released a new EP, Pitch Black, on his Baked Recordings label. Featuring a stew of moody self-produced beats that recall the murky productions of Wu Tang and early Three 6 Mafia, the album is unrelenting in its dark atmosphere.

Qthree’s raps are at once laid back and intense and punch through the mix, while the hooks are instantly catchy. The album also features a number of guest rappers whose interplay adds to the densely textured beats. Pitch Black is striking in its confidence and its polished sound and a worthy listen for fans of grimy, old school rap stylings.
