Hardwork Movement catches “Summer Vibes” in their latest single
Summertime jams are a hot commodity in Philadelphia, which makes sense as we practically invented them. The latest locals to throw their hat in the Ultimate Summer Anthem ring are Hardwork Movement, who just dropped the effervescent “Summer Vibes” this afternoon via Chill Moody’s nicethingsMUSIC.
The inviting tune is based around warm retro synths and a strutting midtempo rhythm, and finds MCs Sterling Duns, RB Ricks and Rick Banks meditating on the joys of the warm-weather months in the city of Brotherly Love. We hear references to games at sports complex, playing chess in the backyard, cookouts and community. Like Duns raps early in the tune: “park the car out on Kelly Drive, the world is mine.”
Give it a listen below. Hardwork Movement plays a free concert at Spruce Street Harbor Park on August 30th, followed by the Philly Music Festival in September; tickets and more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
