Girlpool relays racing inner thoughts on new single “Hire”
We know — Girlpool was just here last week, and you already miss them. Luckily, they’ve just announced the release of a new album called What Chaos Is Imaginary, out February 1 via Anti-. The band will set out on a spring 2019 tour with Hatchie.
On new track “Hire,” the third dropped so far, Cleo Tucker takes over the vocals, his voice cutting through noisy instrumentals, relaying racing inner thoughts. Harmony Tividad doubles him in a watery falsetto, their voices blending seamlessly. The song is cleaner and more upbeat than what we’re used to hearing from them, 2017’s Powerplant characteristically despondent and grungey.
Girlpool returns to Philly on April 26 at Underground Arts. Listen to the single and find the band’s tour dates below.
