Adrianne Lenker captures human moments in new video for “Symbol”

Adrianne Lenker of Big Thief has released a music video for “symbol,” off her solo album abysskiss, out now via Saddle Creek. Directed by Vanessa Haddad of Slopehouse Productions, the video captures kind, human moments during a day at Coney Island. A motorcycle gang rides through the streets, little kids stare in wonder at fireworks lighting up the sky, and Lenker wanders the boardwalk, lit by the neon lights of the amusement park rides. This video is a visual summation of what all of Lenker’s musical endeavors accomplish — she has the uncanny ability to pierce the heart of what it means to be human, to connect strangers through her tender verse.
