“Fear is a powerful enemy — it put a bigot in the White House,” warns Julia Rainer. Her new track “I’m Not Like You” was born out of anger, frustration and fear. “I’m afraid all the time,” she repeats, describing and in some ways satirizing the hatred and intolerance between clashing belief systems.
Fear of difference, the resistance to understand the other side, pit us against each other. Rainer’s echoing vocals create a detached atmosphere, ringing with uncertainty as she wonders of her own fate. Listen to the single below; Julia Rainer plays Everybody Hits on December 22nd with Major Pursuit, Earth Telephone and Steady Hands. Tickets and more information on the show can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
