Local garage rockers lylyly are slowly but surely making a name for themselves in Philadelphia. The band just released their second single, “Home,” with news that a full-length album will follow sometime in late 2019.
The project of singer-songwriter Emily Mineo (who previously released a solo EP), lylyly finds their niche in haunting vocals and scrappy rock, with offbeat lyrics that stop you in your tracks. “Home” blends starkly different styles into one song to represent opposing personalities, starting out sparse and dreamlike before coming to a crash as Mineo sings, “And if I could rearrange / Half as well as those memories / I would dismember myself / I’d move my heart outside.” Listen below.
