Philly hip hop collective ILL DOOTS has been making music together since 2009, and they dropped their new single “(Pants) Tore Up” just last week.

The new track is about the things that get passed down to us — both literally and figuratively. The group raps and sings about how, even though we may not inherit the prettiest things from those who came before us, they’re a piece of our identity and we should sport them proudly. Even if your jeans are torn up, each rip is unique to you. Everyone has their own story and it makes them who they are. The track is punctuated by a verse from Philly rapper Emyne, who the band connected with for their February gig paying tribute to Things Fall Apart by The Roots.

Listen to their new single below and check out their 2018 self-titled album as well. ILL DOOTS will play the Philly Music Fest here at World Cafe Live on September 27th. For more info about festival passes, click here.
