House Cat announces Yellowhammer Fund Dance Party
In the past year over a dozen states have passed, or tried to pass, legislation that would restrict women’s access to abortions. The Alabama state senate passed the most restrictive one yet. In response to that, the Yellowhammer Fund provides financial support to anyone seeking an abortion at any of Alabama’s three remaining clinics. In support of the work the fund is doing, Philly event promotion company House Cat, has announced a dance party fundraiser. The Yellowhammer Fund Dance Party will take place at Underground Arts on Saturday, August 10. All proceeds from the event will go to the Yellowhammer Fund.
The lineup boasts sets from Rana Ransom, DJ Love, and DJ Delish. All hailing from Philly, the three DJs each bring unique perspectives to their music. Earlier this week, DJ Delish shared Khadijah *VOL 1*, which celebrates vogue and queer black and Latinx youth that developed it. Similarly, DJ Love’s music and shows highlight the queer community in Philly. Meanwhile, Rana Ransom’s music offers a unique blend of disco and Middle Eastern music. The fact that the dance party benefits an important organization is the cherry on top of this stacked lineup.
There is a minimum donation of $10 for entry into the event. Tickets can be purchased online and out the door. Find more information about the dance party and tickets here.
