The Mountain Goats on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” | via Pitchfork

The Mountain Goats played live on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night, performing “Sicilian Crest” from their latest record In League with Dragons, released this past April. But before that, they played “This Year” from 2005’s Sunset Tree because Colbert asked them to.

He prefaced the band’s performance with “I asked them to play this song for me because it’s one of my favorite songs of theirs.” Naturally, Colbert joined in on “This Year” and shared the vocals with John Darnielle, jumping around in pure elation. Watch both of the performances below.

The Mountain Goats will play a double header at Union Transfer this Friday and Saturday. Find ticket info on the XPN Concert Calendar.
