Sights and vibes from Electric Forest Festival 2019
Electric Forest is not only a music festival, but a visual experience like no other. Held at the Double JJ Resort in Rothbury Michigan, it is known for having some of the best “special moments” that you don’t see coming, whether musical, theatrical, or visual. When you step into the forest, you will encounter unbelievable art installations, costumed characters, unknown sets, and numerous hidden riddles all around. One of the notable features of Electric Forest is their wide variety of EDM artists. Along with the extensive EDM performances, there were rappers such as Tierra Whack and T-Pain. The festival usually takes place for two weekends, but this year they cut it down to one weekend, held June 27 through June 30
The four-day festival that’s nestled in the trees had some big names on the lineup this year including Kygo, Odesza, Bassnectar, and Zeds Dead. The first day brought sets from Gud Vibrations, Said The Sky, and Ekali. Gud Vibrations, a duo with NGHTMRE & Slander, was one of the most electric sets of the night. Their future bass music was making the crowd jump all night long. There were a lot of different styles of EDM in the mix: Snails brought face melting riddim and dubstep that had the crowd going wild. Bassnectar brought amazing vibes to the crowd with his music and a light show that’s unmatched. The legend, Claude Von Stroke’s house music was having everyone shuffle until their feet fell off. Other amazing performances during the weekend included Seven Lions, Hippie Sabotage, and Alison Wonderland.
Now lets talk about the art instillations. Walking through Sherwood Forest, your eyes are going every which way with unbelievable art. From sculptures to interactive pieces, there was a plethora of things to see and take pictures in front of. Overall, it was an unbelievably amazing weekend. Great weather, amazing music, and by far one of the best festivals out there.
