It’s “a family affair” with Hardwork Movement at Johnny Brenda’s
It was very much a family affair at a sold-out Johnny Brenda’s last Friday night when Hardwork Movement headlined the Fishtown venue with support from two of their offshoot projects.
Opening the night was Like Birds, the vocal jazz inspired pop collective featuring HWM singer / flautist Dani Gershkoff taking center stage and sharing vocal duties with bassist Yeho Bostick. Next was Martronimous, the futuristic jazz / electronic / hip-hop collective led by trumpeter Marty Gottlieb-Hollis
Hardwork crushed a set of their own, packed full with ten tracks that have become live favorites since the band debuted in 2015 — “Dance With Me,” “Spun,” “Summer Vibes,” “City Bars,” all of that plus a cover of “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X. Check out a gallery of photos from the show below.
