G-Town Radio bids farewell to Jim Bear with a party next month
Germantown Community Radio‘s founder and station manager Jim Bear will be stepping down from his role next year after 14 years. The station, which can be found on 92.9 FM in Northwest Philadelphia, will host a send off party for Bear on September 29 from 3 to 7 p.m.
Community members are invited to join in a free Listener Record Party at the station’s Maplewood Mall headquarters to thank Bear for bringing community radio to Northwest Philly. Attendees can bring a record to play live on air, and are urged to think of a favorite G-Town Radio story or memory to share. Find more information on the event here. You can also tune in to 92.9 FM or online at gtownradio.com to listen along.
Germantown Community Radio was established as an “exceptional outlet for local content, community news, and diverse spectrum of music,” with the goal of sharing sounds and ideas not found on mainstream media. G-Town Radio broadcasts from noon Wednesday to midnight Sunday on 92.9, and 24/7 online at gtownradio.com.
