Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Miles Davis’ In a Silent Way with Charlie Hall of The War on Drugs
Charlie Hall, best known as the drummer for The War on Drugs, is a big Miles Davis fan. Since the 90s, Hall and his collaborators have been exploring Davis’ canon, particularly the 1969-75 era during which the trumpet legend ventured into electronic music.
2019 marks the 50th anniversary of Miles Davis’ landmark album In a Silent Way, which ushered in that controversial era. To mark the occasion, Hall and his friends will reconvene for a show at World Cafe Live on Thursday, October 10. Tickets are on sale now; find more information on the XPN Concert Calendar.
In addition to his work with The War on Drugs, Charlie Hall’s eclectic interests have led him to lead the Philadelphia male choral ensemble The Silver Ages. He’s also the co-founder of the Lindsey Buckingham Appreciation Society, made up Fleetwood Mac enthusiasts from Philadelphia and New York.
