Upholstery explores opposing personas on the “Constrict the Craw” video
Philly experimental outfit Upholstery has shared a video for “Constrict the Craw,” the second single off their new album INGA, out now on Exotic Fever Records. Vocalist Kate Black-Regan co-directed the video with Briana Mills-Walker and Mark Cave of Camp Candle, and stars in it with the dual role of two opposing personas — one is emotionally and creatively uninspired, the other brimming with energy and decked in bright sequins. Channelling 90’s trip-hop, the haunting track comes together with choppy beats and heavy vocals as the characters’ story plays out.
Upholstery will release a compilation of remixes from INGA on October 5, and celebrate with a record release show at Bourbon & Branch on Oct. 4. Find tickets and more information on the XPN Concert Calendar.
