Harmony Woods lives out an exhilarating night on “The City’s Our Song”
Harmony Woods shared a third single from their forthcoming sophomore album Make Yourself at Home, which will be released October 4 via Skeletal Lightning. Infectious and anthemic, “The City’s Our Song” is a high point in the story songwriter Sofia Verbilla weaves throughout the record, working in the themes of spontaneity and infatuation that appear across its 11 tracks as her characters live out an exhilarating night.
“This song is about the short-term benefits after one gives into infatuation,” Verbilla shares. “To these two characters, it feels like they’re in a movie; moving their way through the city, making these wild, inebriated plans without a care in the world. In reality, however, nothing these two share is going to feel as wonderful as it does in this moment.”
Produced by Chris Teti of The World Is A Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, Make Yourself at Home is the follow-up to Harmony Woods’ 2017 debut album Nothing Special. Harmony Woods will support TWIABP on tour this fall, but before that they’ll celebrate the new record with a release party at Everybody Hits on October 11 with Sammy Heck, Monster Bad and Highnoon. Find tickets and more information on the XPN Concert Calendar.
