Ang Bocca gets spooky with Ortlieb’s residency

Ortlieb’s is going to get spooky this October — every Thursday during Ang Bocca‘s Blood Thirstay Residency, at least. Each week leading up to Halloween, the local singer-songwriter will take the stage for a frightfully fantastic evening of local music and seasonal fun.

Each week will have a different spooky theme, like “spookeasy jazz night” and “rock ‘n’ roll horror show,” and there’ll also be specialty cocktails, tarot card readings, drag performances, zombie makeup and other activities. She’ll be joined by fellow members of the Philly music scene for the shows, including Jody deMarco of Sixteen Jackies, Queen Vice, and Plant Sounds.

During the residency, Ang Bocca will debut some of the new music she’s been working on. In addition to her solo work, Bocca recently took over as the new lead singer of local band goodnight/goodluck, who performs the final week of the residency.
