An all-Philly tribute to The Clash’s London Calling is coming to World Cafe Live on its 40th anniversary
40 years to the day since its release, local artists will revisit The Clash’s London Calling album with a tribute show at World Cafe Live, co-curated and presented by The Key. After it came out in 1979, the iconic album was certified platinum in the US and was ranked #8 on Rolling Stone‘s list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
On December 14, house bands The Warhawks and Rockers Galore will team up to perform the record in its entirety, and they’ll be joined by a lineup of special guests including Tim Hause of Dave Hause & The Mermaid, Augusta Koch of Gladie and Cayetana, Max Stern of Signals Midwest, Sheena Powell of Sheena and Thee Nosebleeds, Brit Luna of Catbite, Erin Fox of Resilient and Babe Grenade, plus more to be announced.
