Perry Shall is many things to many people, in Philly and beyond. He’s a collector of t-shirts and a visual artist specializing in everything from gig posters to album covers; his sharp eye and unique style landed him a gig as the in-house designer for Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound records a couple years ago. He’s played in basement surf bands (Dry Feet), as well as hard-edged thrash bands (HOUND). And for his latest project, Shall explores another avenue of his musical interests — power pop and pub rock in the spirit of Elvis Costello and Graham Parker.

Wild Flowers of America makes its recorded debut next month with the Lost In The Salvation Army LP, out via indie labels Crutch of Memory and JAC World, and today the band released the first teaser of the album — “Dwell On It,” a hooky song about emotional hangups that is accompanied by a very fun music video that Shall collaborated on with local filmmaker Bob Sweeney.

In the video, we see Shall taking time out for himself, and wandering the lush greenery of Ott’s Exotic Plants in Schwenksville, literally stopping to smell the flowers. Take a watch below, and grab a pre-order of Lost in the Salvation Army here.
