Marty Gottlieb-Hollis talks about finding his voice on the 25 O’Clock podcast
Dan Drago’s long-running 25 O’Clock podcast returns this week for a conversation with Marty Gottlieb-Hollis. The trumpet player, writer and composer plays with the local bands Hardwork Movement, Interminable, and Upholstery, and recently started making music with his new solo project Martronimous.
Throughout the nearly hour-long conversation, Gottlieb-Hollis talks about growing up in the Philly suburbs and listening to jazz with his dad, his former life as a college-level hockey player, why he got an English degree instead of a music one, and much more.
Gottlieb-Hollis released two new singles as Martronimous, “Renew” and “Incompleteness,” this past summer. His next local gig will be with December 11th at Bourbon and Branch, followed by a show with Upholstery on February 14 at Boot & Saddle.
