Big Nothing imagines all of our stories on “Monday Morning”
Philly power pop punk four-piece Big Nothing released a fantastic record called Chris last year, and they’re teed up to release a couple brand new singles to kick off 2019.
The first, which got a premiere last week via The Alternative, is a breezy crunchy joint in the vein of Courtney Barnett’s “Avant Gardener,” where singer-guitarist Pat Graham takes lead songwriting duties and he harmonizes with bassist Liz Parsons and guitarist Matt Quinn in describing an encounter with a stranger.
As The Alternative tells it:
Graham wrote the lyrics observing a passerby and imagining all the stories every person has to tell, trying to accept that none of us are impervious to fault while we are all capable of greatness. Every person you see has a story to tell and a reason to keep on keeping on.
Take a listen below. Big Nothing plays The Meadow in West Philly on January 31st; more on the gig can be found at its Facebook event page.
