My Chemical Romance will headline the Wells Fargo Center this fall
Beloved theatrical modern rockers My Chemical Romance practically broke the internet when they announced their reunion last fall. The gig, which took place at Los Angeles’ Shrine Expo Center, was the band’s first since 2013, and thankfully not their last.
Today, MCR detailed a 2020 world tour which brings them to festivals and stadiums in Australia, Japan, Europe, and the U.S., with a Philadelphia date set for September 18th at Wells Fargo Center.
After releasing the generational touchstone The Black Parade in 2006, MCR returned with one more album — 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys — and lots of shows before parting ways. Gerard Way released a solo album called Hesitant Alien in 2014, and saw his comic series The Umbrella Academy adapted into a Netflix series in 2019. Guitarist Frank Iero has also remained very active, recording and touring with his band Frank Iero And The Patience, which features Philly’s Kayleigh Goldsworthy.
The tour announcement came with a very elaborate, 13-minute video which you can watch below. Tickets to the concert go on sale Friday, January 31st at noon, more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
