Arthur Thomas and the Funkitorium gets their swagger on with new video “How You Like Me Now?”
West Philadelphia’s Arthur Thomas and the Funkitorium dropped their latest single yesterday. We initially heard an early version of “How You Like Me Now” last fall when the band recorded a stellar Key Studio Session, and while that recording delivered big time on its stripped-down live and raw funk, the tricked-out single version shimmers with Anderson .Paak-esque charisma.
“How You Like Me Now” celebrates style — new shirts, new shoes, new look, new you — and the brilliant music video by Bob Sweeney gives it a visual dimension with flickering 8mm film and faded textures showing Art cruising the city in a top-down car, playing pools at his fave corner bar, all the while decked out in vintage clothes and tremendous swagger.
Arthur Thomas and the Funkitorium play the XPoNential Music Festival, July 31st through August 2nd on the Camden Waterfront. Tickets and more information can be found at XPNFest.org; watch the “How You Like Me Now” video below.
