American Trappist hits intense emotional limits on “Losing My Grip” from new album The Gate
American Trappist is back with “Losing My Grip.” The new track is the second single from the band’s forthcoming album The Gate, which comes out May 15 on Smartt Records.
Led by New Jersey singer-songwriter and producer Joe Michelini, American Trappist’s intense alt-rock sound is on full display on “Losing My Grip,” a departure from the melodic lead single “Independence Day.” Michelini says the new single is inspired by bands like Sonic Youth and My Morning Jacket, and it’s “for all of you hitting your mental and emotional limits in quarantine.”
And to keep things fun during quarantine, American Trappist is hosting a dance contest, and asking participants to post a video of themselves with “Losing My Grip” playing in the background. Listen to the new song and see the contest details below.
