A few months back, Philly rapper Khemist stopped by WRTI’s studios to record an NPR Music Live Session with saxophonist Teodross Avery. Videos from the session were released Thursdsay to celebrate Public Radio Music Day.

Watch below as Khemist joins Avery to perform vocals on three songs, “Time Is Everlasting,” “Perception,” and “Don’t Get No Easier.” The session also features Anwar Marshall on drums, Parker McAllister on bass, Adam Faulk on piano, DJ Rick Geez on turntables, and a live painter, Khalid Thompson.

Khemist’s latest single “Resignation” came out earlier this year. He’s also a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and voting is open through the end of April. Learn more here.
