Algernon Cadwallader holding a charity raffle, doing a limited run of Black Lives Matter shirts
Philly emo staples Algernon Cadwallader will raffle off rare pressings of their LPs in a fundraiser for several social justice organizations. The band has also released a Black Lives Matter t-shirt, available now for pre-order.
One raffle ticket costs $20, and multiple ticket purchases are allowed. The raffle winner will receive test presses of every Algernon Cadwallader record, which includes “LPs, Demo, 4-Way Split, Fun, and we’ll throw in some mastering plates from the LPs and maybe some other junk.” There will be 5 runners-up, who will each receive a second pressing European LP of Some Kind of Cadwallader, with a hand-screened cover. Shirts are also available in sizes S through XXL: $30 for United States shipping, $35 for Canada and Mexico, and $40 for international.
All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Youth Arts & Self-Empowerment Project, Bread & Roses Community Fund, Amistad Law Project, and Movement for Black Lives, while shirt profits will go towards Black Lives Matter. The band says, “The time has come for our white privileged band to leave a greater mark than a ton of sweat on the ground.” Earlier this month, producer Will Yip also held a test pressing raffle to raise money for social justice organizations.
