On the most recent entry to the Adult Swim Singles series, Philly poet and soundscaper Moor Mother joins up with NYC emcee billy woods on a three-minute track called “Furies.” The track combines Moor Mother’s signature “witch rap” style with billy woods’ dense, unwavering rhymes. “They don’t want me to shine / They don’t want me to shine,” Moor Mother repeats, menacingly.

Recently, the two rappers also teamed up on “Ramesses II,” a track off Shrines, Armand Hammer’s (a rap duo made up of billy woods and Elucid) latest album from early June. Moor Mother has released “Change,” a single from earlier this year, as well as Offering, a live album with producer Nicole Mitchell. billy woods’ latest solo album, Terror Management, was released in 2019, and both artists shared a bill at Johnny Brenda’s earlier this year.
