Throwing Muses share “Bo Diddley Bridge” from forthcoming album Sun Racket
Throwing Muses‘ new record Sun Racket would’ve come out earlier this year, but the pandemic has pushed its release date back to September 4. Ahead of the release, the Boston trio of Kristin Hersh, David Narcizo and Bernard Georges has shared a third single from the forthcoming album, “Bo Diddley Bridge.”
“My little boy, Bo, used to fish off Bo Diddley Bridge down the street before it collapsed, around the time our life collapsed,” says Hersh. “But we lived; we swam in a life sunshine somehow. And both bridges — the Bo Diddley one and the life one — were rebuilt around us.”
Sun Racket will be Throwing Muses’ 10th studio album and first since 2013’s Purgatory/Paradise. According to a press release, it is “an outpouring of modal guitars, reverbed shapes, pounding drums and driving bass set behind Kristin Hersh’s well-thumbed notebook of storylines and haunting vocals that get into your psyche” and a “ten-song opus of suitably wrought tales set against a wall of sound that’s at once calm and ethereal before building into glorious cacophonous crescendos.” Pre-order it from Fire Records.
