Local hip hop band Ill Doots dropped their eight-track album The Mess via their own label Tasker House.

The group came together through jam sessions in 2009 and have gone on to create eight studio projects; their latest was written and produced over 10 days in a barn on the coast of Maine. Throughout of all of the tracks on The Mess, Ill Doots combines experimental and eclectic elements of hip hop, funk, jazz and rock.

In addition to the record’s release, the band had a virtual album release party Friday night called The Let Out. In addition to showcasing tracks of Ill Doots’ new album, the party featured over 30+ artists and raised funds to benefit The Village of Arts & Humanities, an arts organization working to abolish youth incarceration.
