Ishtar Sr., Savan DePaul’s cosmically sexual alter-ego, has released two new singles: “HOLYHOUSE,” featuring House Fire, and “Fourth Planet Funk,” featuring Helvetica the Mage. The singles were released on Astro Nautico’s Atlantics X campaign, an emergency microfund for artists impact by COVID–19.

We’ve covered a number of Atlantics X campaign releases, including tracks by Kingsley Ibeneche and KillerWhale, but check out Austro Nautico’s Bandcamp for a comprehensive list of releases.

Both of Ishtar Sr./Savan DePaul’s new singles showcase a completely different sound than their most recent release, an EP titled Post–Descent Inanna. The EP reveled in unabashed, hyper–sexual tracks about love from the perspective of an ancient deity, featuring slick hooks and smooth, pitch–shifted raps. These two singles, on the other hand, are almost entirely without vocals. Instead, they rely on shining disco synths and deceptive dance beats, carrying a more carefree vibe compared to Post–Descent Inanna’s mystical, cosmological bent.
