#XPNFest will return in-person in September 2021

As the XPNFest Festival Summer Celebration wraps up today, we bring you news that the next in-person edition of the XPoNential Music Festival will be held from September 17th to September 19th in 2021 at Wiggins Park and the BB&T Pavilion.

Though not tied directly to COVID-19, the move to late summer stems from taking 2020 off due to the pandemic and reevaluating the event’s calendar. WXPN’s Festival Team say they want to have XPoNential take place during a time of the year that is more comfortable and safe for the audience, artists, staff, and crew, especially given the high temperatures and frequent storms and frequent storms that come in July. The intent is to hold XPoNential on a late-summer / early-fall weekend going forward.

Asked if there’s a possibility that XPNFest 2021 will also get cancelled, Festival organizers said “We hope not! As is the case with all things in the world right now, there is a lot of uncertainty about what 2021 will look like in terms of health and safety protocols. The festival in 2021 will only happen if we can do so in safe manner for the many people involved from the audience to the artists to the festival staff.”
