Watch singer-songwriter Christine Havrilla record a socially-distanced new single, “Desire”
Rock and roll Philly singer-songwriter Christine Havrilla is not letting COVID get her or her bandmates down. They just rolled out a new track called “Desire,” and in a new music video released last week, you can watch them record it isolated but together, each contributing parts from their home studios.
“Well, we have all been in quarantine over the past few months due to COVID-19,” writes Havrilla over email. “And since I missed my band so much, we decided to connect by recording our own audio and video in our homes & then put everything together in layers!”
The song is a jagged rocker reminiscent of Sheryl Crow and Bonnie Raitt, and it features Keith Giosa on bass, Dan Kauffman on electric guitar, Rich Bellando on drums, and Gretchen Schultz on cowbell and background vocals; the finished recordings were mixed by Giosa, with Schultz editing the video. “I am so grateful to be surrounded by such amazing talent and human beings,” says Havrilla.
