Port Lucian explores nostalgia, loneliness, and growth on Prince of Oddities EP
Philly’s Port Lucian will release its next EP Prince of Oddities this month. Portia Maidment started the lo-fi bedroom pop project in 2016, debuting with the Sun EP the following year, and has released several singles since.
All songs on the EP were written, performed and mixed by Maidment. Four of the five tracks have already been released as singles, along with music videos for “20z” and “Full Control.” “20z” was also featured on Z Tapes’ A Mix That Doesn’t Need To Be Fixed compilation, benefiting Heritage Group Homes. The hazy songs layer soft instrumentals with dreamy, echoing vocals as Maidment explores nostalgia, loneliness, and growth. Listen below.
Prince of Oddities is out September 18 via Z Tapes. The limited edition cassette is available to pre-order now.
