New Order is back with the optimistic “Be a Rebel”
New Order just released their first new track in five years. “Be a Rebel” is an uplifting song that encourages optimism even when times are tough. The synthy track was originally going to be a preview of the Brit rock band’s now-cancelled US tour this fall, but this challenging year has only made its message of positivity more relevant.
“In tough times we wanted to reach out with a new song,” Bernard Sumner. “We can’t play live for a while, but music is still something we can all share together. We hope you enjoy it… until we meet again.”
The definitive collection of New Order’s 1983 studio album Power, Corruption & Lies will be released on October 2 via Warner Music. New Order’s 2021 tour with Pet Shop Boys will make a stop in Philly at the Mann Center next September 25. Tickets are on sale now — find more information on the XPN Concert Calendar.
