Liz Phair signs to Chrysalis, Soberish pushed to 2021 release - WXPN | Vinyl At Heart

Liz Phair‘s highly anticipated new album, Soberish, finally has a confirmed release date. That’s a slight exaggeration: it finally has a confirmed release year.

After initially planning for a summer 2020 release (supported by a tour), Phair put the record on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, after announcing that she signed to Chrysalis Records, her new team confirmed that the album has officially been slated for a 2021 release date, alongside a European tour and a slew of North American shows.

The lead single from Soberish, “Good Side,” is one of Phair’s first new tracks in years. Check out World Cafe host Raina Douris chat with Phair about her career and upcoming album here. Listen to Liz Phair’s “Good Side” below, and revisit her virtual XPNFest set here, where you can hear a live version of the title track.
