Dominic Angelella’s “heavily autobiographical” solo EP Industry Night is out on Lame-O Records next month; listen to “Minotaur”
Philly-rooted singer-songwriter Dominic Angelella is a seasoned multi-instrumentalist who appears across many musical acts but his exciting solo catalog is continuing to grow with the release of his upcoming EP, Industry Night.
Angelella described the new EP via his Instagram as “Four songs about terrible bosses, narcissism in music, Italian scammer magicians, and being in love with a conversion van. Heavily autobiographical.” The EP announcement came with the release of the single “Minotaur” and an accompanying music video.
The track is a shorter one, but feels full with its simple guitar rhythm, stacked vocals, and a charming outro of keys and picked up lead guitar. Industry Night follows Angelella’s latest full-length record, Poison River, a delightful 10 track record with rock sounds and softer ballads that encapsulate Angelella’s variety of musical expertise.
Apart from establishing himself in his solo work, Angelella has ventured into many other areas of music. He currently plays bass for Lucy Dacus, previously played with mewithoutYou, has toured with Natalie Prass and appeared on records by Kendrick Lamar and Mac Miller, to name a few, but the list is quite long. It is a thrill to see him do his own thing and show his talents apart from other gigs within his solo work.
Industry Night will be available on October 9 on Lame-O Records. “Minotaur” is available to listen now. Check out the video below.
