Philadelphia singer-sonwriter Erin Fox might be known for rocking out in the band Resilient, but she is embracing her DIY pop side with the new single, “Pictures.” All proceeds from the track will go to Mutual Aid Philly.

A departure from the hard-hitting grunge sound of her primary band, “Pictures” is a vibrant track that showcases the range of Fox’s rich voice and her ability to adapt to different genres.

The arrangement of the song features a percussion loop and keys, complementing her vocals — equal parts fluttery and strong — as they deliver a lyrical narrative about self-perception. As Fox describes the track via a press release: “Pictures is about the blurred lines between actual reality and the distorted reality that is served to us on social media and how it impacts our daily lives and way of thinking.”

“Pictures” follows Fox’s more stripped-back projects, the 2018 Forbidden Youth and Your Joy, and an exciting development of her poppy singer-songwriter side, allowing listeners to engage with her music across numerous settings.
