NJ punk favorites The Bouncing Souls team up with producer Will Yip for Home For The Holidays live stream from Studio 4
Veteran New Jersey punk rockers The Bouncing Souls have reworked a selected batch of songs across their catalog for their latest album Volume 2 that will be performed for a Home For The Holidays livestream from Will Yip‘s Studio 4 in Conshohocken.
In 2019, The Bouncing Souls celebrated 30 years by releasing the Crucial Moments EP. For the project, the band teamed up with celebrated producer Yip, who has worked alongside current punk / emo faves like The Mezingers and Tigers Jaw. Yip stayed on board for Volume 2, helping the band add their seasoned expertise in a new fashion to their repertoire of tracks, with some that age back 20 some years.
In their latest endeavor, The Bouncing Souls and Yip will join forces for the annual Home For The Holidays event as part of Yip’s Live At Studio 4 series where Volume 2 will be performed live in full. Yip spoke about the forthcoming collaboration in a press release:
“I’m excited to have The Bouncing Souls be apart of our Live at Studio 4 Series. They’re a band that has been so inspiring to work with the last few years and I’m beyond excited to showcase how incredible they are live. Can’t wait to welcome everyone into our studio and share such a classic Souls moment together!”
Home For The Holidays was the Souls’ annual gig for nine years running at Asbury Park venue The Stone Pony. Although circumstances are not ideal in 2020, the band looks forward to performing at the live stream event with a few surprises in store. Vocalist Greg Attonito optimistically detailed these sentiments in a press release:
“We have missed a lot of things this year. We’ve missed being with each other as band buds and we’ve missed making music for our friends everywhere. This year has challenged us all in ways we maybe never imagined and pushed us to be stronger in ways we maybe didn’t think were possible. The idea of rousing the spirit of Home for the Holidays at the end of 2020 seemed like such a great idea. But how? After much deliberation, we think we’ve found a way. We will be getting together in Studio 4 with our good bud/producer Will Yip to perform our new record, ‘Volume 2’ plus some surprises. There will be some special guests and some stories to tell too. Our goal is to try to capture a taste of that great spirit we all enjoyed so much during the nine year run of our annual Home For The Holidays party at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park. We figured you all could use a dose of that spirit after such an upside-down year. We know we could. We are looking forward to playing together in a room maybe more than we ever have in our 31 years as a band. We hope you’ll sit back at home and join us on December 12th.”
Home For The Holidays will stream on December 12 at 8 p.m. and tickets for the event are available to purchase here.
