If you’re like me and you spent most of your nights in the before times venue-hopping and trying to get to as many gigs as possible, 2020 has been a rough adjustment.

That’s why we here at The Key have teamed up with our friends and fellow frequent concert flyers at Cherry-Veen Zine, a Philadelphia music scene zine, to bring you Unprecedented Sessions — live music for unprecedented times.

We’ll be sharing these periodically over the next several months, beginning on Tuesday, December 8th, with a performance by emospacebird. and Barney Cortez, captured live and onstage at Ortlieb’s in Northern Liberties by Matt Schenck of Power Cycle Productions.

Both artists released impressive new music this year; emospacebird., the indie pop project of singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Erin Dillard, put out a tremendous self-titled full-length, while Cortez released two EPs of stellar pop-rock songwriting, Drive-Thru Heart and Pretty Thin.

The first Unprecedented Session will stream live on Facebook beginning at 6 p.m. ET; more information can be found here, and keep an eye out for future editions of Unprecedented Sessions this winter.
