Dante Robinson goes acoustic on the Delaware River for Up And Ovr’s Musicale sessions
Philly singer-songwriter Dante Robinson recently sat down with Up And Ovr for their Musicale performance series. He played two songs — the fittingly-titled new song “Bad Year” and “Cosmonaut,” off his recent debut EP — against the backdrop of the South Philly waterfront.
Robinson, who also plays in the indie rock band Vague Advice, embraces an acoustic sound on his solo work. He told The Key last year that he tries to subvert toxic masculinity in indie rock by making music that challenges people to think about who they are and how they treat others. “I do think indie rock has a responsibility to assess its own role in the patriarchy and I guess this is me trying to contribute to that in whatever small way I can,” he said.
Robinson’s EP, on a hotel bed you paid for, is out now on Bandcamp.
