serpentwithfeet’s “Fellowship” celebrates the power of intimacy and understanding
Experimental soundscaper and singer-songwriter serpentwithfeet announced this week that his second full-length album, DEACON, will be released on March 26th, shared a music video for its first single. The song, “Fellowship,” can best be understood through one line repeated throughout the song: “I’m thankful for the love I share with my friends.”
Co-written and co-produced with Sampha and Lil Silva, “Fellowship” is a straightforward but powerful expression of serpentwithfeet’s appreciation and love for the people in his life. The music video itself reflects that, giving a glimpse into the bond he shares with others by showing footage of him and his partner together on a beach. As the first single from his album, this song and music video perfectly set the tone for DEACON, which which is meant to be “calm and restrained,” according to serpent.
