Spirit of the Beehive announces LP ENTERTAINMENT, DEATH alongside the release of intense single and music video “THERE’S NOTHING YOU CAN’T DO”
For Philly’s Spirit of the Beehive, change is a key part of their sound, embracing it as a tool for growth rather than something to be challenged by.
From their evolving lineup, which is a newly modified three-piece of founding members Zack Schwartz and Rivka Ravede now joined by new member Corey Wichlin, to their discography delving into multiple genres, every arrival of theirs a surprise, in addition to the complex intricacies that form their sound. Following teases on social media of upcoming releases, the band has announced their Saddle Creek debut with a new LP ENTERTAINMENT, DEATH, along with the release of its lead single and music video “THERE’S NOTHING YOU CAN’T DO.”
“THERE’S NOTHING YOU CAN’T DO” is a glimpse into the new chapter that awaits Spirit of the Beehive, with gripping electronic instrumentation surrounding the distant vocals of Ravede, eventually collapsing into crescendos of loud chaos. The track’s music video, directed by Ryan Schnackenberg, builds off the walls of sound with contrasting visuals narrating the duality of addiction, shown through clips of a double character portrayed by Ellen Kozarits, one half in a futuristic game controlling a more raw version of herself in broad daylight, seemingly going through the motions of having a drug addiction; the visuals only intensify as the track continues.
ENTERTAINMENT, DEATH will be available for pre-order here in a variety of physical format options via Saddle Creek. Five percent of proceeds from pre-order sales of the album from the Saddle Creek site and Bandcamp will be donated to the Amistad Law Project.
