Lindsay Reamer overcomes self-doubt with her synth-pop debut single “Lucky”
Lindsay Reamer has had all of the makings of a great artist, save for one thing: the confidence to record her music. The single “Lucky” changes that, and marks the Philadelphia artist’s first official release. It’s the title track from her debut EP which comes out on February 26 on Philly label Dear Life Records.
In the new release, Reamer sings, “But I’m feeling lucky / Like I could find a dollar on the street / Like I’m finally getting out of the way of my own two feet.” The recording of the entire EP is what Reamer calls “an exercise in overcoming self doubt.” The song seems to carry that in its message of burgeoning self-love.
Reamer’s voice is sweet, and the synths and various licks in the background are captivating and perfectly placed. Its sound sits somewhere between complete modernity and nostalgia, and already gives a strong impression of Reamer’s songwriting chops. The accompanying music video show Reamer through a lens of static. It’s colorful and trippy, and somehow works perfectly for the catchy song.
