Listen to Queen Jesus’ previously unreleased work in their newest EP, Crystal Whip

Philly band Queen Jesus just made their first release of the year. While the recordings are new, the songs featured on Crystal Whip were written in 2018. The five song EP feels very much like an extension of Glass Hat and not simply like content that couldn’t make the cut.

Every song on the EP falls on a spectrum that ranges from Americana to psychedelic folk. While none of the songs fall firmly on one side of the paradigm, certain songs lean more one way or the other. For instance, “Little Baby” falls the furthest toward rootsy side of the five songs; “Bullhead” the closest to psych. The rest fall at various places between, with all of the songs carrying inspiration from both genres.
