To celebrate the launch of her new multimedia newsletter, For the Record, San Francisco-based artist Thao Nguyen called in to chat with host Eric Schuman on the Indie Rock Hit Parade. With For the Record, Thao will be documenting the complete process of writing and recording her next album, expected to be completed in 2022. In this conversation, Thao explains how she arrived at using Substack as her platform of choice to stay connected with fans, and how the setting compares to the process of creating her two most recent albums, Temple and A Man Alive.
