Ben Jaffe plays bass and tuba, and is the creative director of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Jaffe is featured in the documentary, Kanaval: Haitian Music & the Music of New Orleans, during which he illustrates the musical and historical connections between Haiti and his hometown of the Crescent City.

Pres Hall has performed a handful of times on World Cafe, and in 2018, on the release of their album, So It Is, they visited the radio program and performed several songs including “La Malanga,” and “Santiago.” Watch the two videos below, and listen to the complete interview with Ben via NPR Music and World Cafe here.
